Outdoor Kitchen Grill

With the onset of outdoor kitchens and the amenities they provide, the installation of an outdoor kitchen grill is almost mandatory. But what kind of grill do you want to complete that outdoor kitchen? There are so many to choose from one can become a little bewildered when it comes to selection. There are free standing grills, cart grills, built in and customized grills. You look at the selections and then at your budget.

To help you make your decision here are some helpful things to think about. Do you want to pay a lot of money for a custom built-in grill? Even those grills that are considered inexpensive are costly. Would you rather have an inexpensive but good looking and good working grill?  If the latter is what you decide then look at cart grills. When we say look we mean shop around for the best buy on the cart grill. The cart grill can be easily moved and in the event something goes wrong with it can easily be repaired. Parts for the cart grill can sometimes be generic. There is little chance of the parts not being available. The expensive custom or built-in outdoor kitchen grill is certainly a beautiful addition to your outdoor kitchen but what happens if something goes wrong and the company has gone out of business, changed your model grill or discontinued it? In our present economy the chance of even a long time, well known company going out of business is a good one. As for discontinuing or changing the model of your grill, companies are bringing on what they call new and improved items everyday. The chances of this happening are better than your grill being struck by lightening. It is recommended that you look into the cart grill. They are attractive albeit not like the custom or built-in but certainly more reliable.

Don’t forget about the accessories you will be using outdoors. Those things made of fabric like pillows, tablecloths, napkins and such, as well as the flatware and painted or varnished wood trays, etc. Will you be storing those indoors and bringing them outdoors each time you want to use them? This would certainly not be part of step saving incorporated in the design of the outdoor kitchen. Instead, plan waterproof cabinets in the kitchen that would be a storage area for these items keeping them clean and out of the weather should it rain or snow. Plan those cabinets close to where you will use the items stored there to save steps and energy.

When planning your outdoor kitchen grill be as careful and precise as when you plan your entire outdoor kitchen.  In the long run the careful planning and shopping, for that grill, will pay off with years of hardy wear. Reminder, plan your seating arrangement away from whatever kind of grill you decide on.  Don’t be hurt by what is cooking on the grill. It can spark, flame, spit grease and smoke.
